It'll be worth the 8-12 week wait, we promise. Meticulous care is put into our post-processing, which includes retouching as you may wish. This is where all your authentic emotions and epic moments are beautifully showcased to become touchstones of that special day forever. You'll receive a gorgeous custom box containing all of your images on a matching USB drive. Albums and heirloom-quality prints are available for purchase at this point as well.
No sweat, right? Not with a little photoshop anyway... Seriously, this is a day to commemorate a lifetime of love. Soulmates will laugh, family will hug, friends to cheer, and the dog will snatch a bridesmaid's piece of cake, it's all to be expected, and you can relax knowing that any hiccups will be endearing memories, and any blemishes will be forgotten in the editing process. Can we receive our photos unedited?
Is that what raw files means?
Short answer - no. The post-process is a big part of what makes our photography our photography, and that's exactly why you'd choose MK DeLacy, right?
Raw images are technically files with the ".RAW" extension (variations include ".NEF" and ".DNG"), which is what photographers edit with specific software to bring out unseen details and tones. RAW images can be unappealing at first, because photographers often use certain camera settings with the post-processing in mind, but a professional with the right software can make them a masterpiece. Commercial photography is an occasional exception, but that's a different licensing discussion and additional fee rate.
When can we expect to see our wedding gallery photos?
Post-production for weddings are typically completed 8-12 weeks after the date of the wedding. We generally don't offer rush service on wedding photos, but if needed a rush process fee will be charged.
When can we expect to see our photos from our engagement session?
Post-production for engagement sessions are typically completed 4-6 weeks after the date of the shoot. If you require the images to be completed prior to that, a rush process fee will be charged.
Will I be charged for downtime between events on my wedding day? What if we go over the contracted amount of time?
We dedicate the entire day to you, however we have to charge for the time in between events for a few reasons. During that "downtime" we’re setting up for the next venue or shots, traveling to the second location, taking venue photos, backing up images, grabbing a quick bite to eat, or making up for lost photo time because of unforeseen wedding day delays. Or in many cases, we'll use that time to take you and your significant other out for a photo session or more family portraits.
Now we understand that plans can change. We don't pack up before the contracted end time, and we'll ask you then whether or not you would like to extend. If you would like us to stay, payment will be due at that time, and rates specified in your contract will be rounded to the closest 30-minute increment. If you're not able to make the payment at that time however, we'll start post-processing as soon as you're able to make the payment afterwards.
Do you touch up all the images in our gallery?
And what do you mean by "touching up", "editing", and "post-processing"?
Yes we enhance every image in one or several ways. Every image is processed in our signature style, which means color correction, exposure adjustment, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and more. As far as blemishes or other skin flaws go, we generally follow a 3-week rule, meaning if it's something that wouldn't be there 3 weeks later, we'll remove it. Of course if you have any little requests to adjust something you're self-conscious about, we completely understand and are happy to oblige. We got you!
Do you do destination weddings?
What additional fees are involved?
While MK DeLacy Wedding & Boudoir Photography is based out of Las Vegas and Clark County, we serve clients across the country, and world as necessary. And while your destination session may be anywhere, you're always welcome to have your engagement/save the date shoot here at one of Las Vegas' many beautiful lavish urban or exotic desert locations. Check out Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon, Nelson Ghost Town, the Freemont Street Experience and some of our austere dry lake beds.
Travel and reasonable accommodations will be included in your customized wedding package.
Do you provide videography services?
Technically, not yet. We occasionally offer complimentary video and drone footage though, as we're always looking to expand our artform and the services we can provide. Honestly, we're still learning, and practice makes perfect, which is why we don't charge for this supplemental extra just yet.
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
No, we do not. We remove duplicate images, test shots, shots with missed focus, unflattering expressions, and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. We don’t expect you to have the time to zoom in to each image to choose the one with the sharpest focus or best candid expression, so we spend hours doing that on our end. We'll often snap several images in a row to capture one great shot with the ideal portrayal of the moment. Editing extra images that don't add to your gallery would unnecessarily delay the delivery process, and we don't want that. You probably don't either.
